
Ali O. İlhan
Assistant Professor
Ali O. İlhan received his PhD from Washington State University in sociology (2013). He holds BSc (2003) and MSc (2007) degrees in industrial design from Istanbul Technical University. Prior to his academic experience, he worked as an industrial designer at Arcelik A.Ş and Can Yalman Design.
His recent studies explore the factors that promote the growth and institutionalization of disciplines and interdisciplines in the US, utilizing a unique longitudinal database that covers the period of 1970-2012. His research interests include longitudinal/hierarchal data analysis, social network analysis, science and technology studies, sociology of education, disciplinarity and interdisciplinarity and sociology of design disciplines and professions.
