Dr. Sevil Yazıcı investigates possibilities for rehabilitating the built environment through the use of technology. Her research interests are computational design, material systems, digital fabrication, performance assessments and optimization processes.
She received her BArch Degree (2003) with honors from ITU, MArch Degree (2006) from the London Architectural Association (AA) and PhD Degree (2013) from ITU.
As the co-founder of the team Zero.1, she invented “Bi-stable Intelligent Structure”, granted by Patent in the UK. She attended classes at Harvard GSD and worked in various offices, including von Gerkan, Marg & Partners in Berlin and Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) in London. She was involved in and led various projects at ZHA for about four years from concept to construction phases, including Kartal-Pendik Masterplan, d’Leedon Singapore, King Abdullah II Art & Culture House, Pierres Vives Building, Eleftheria Square Redesign and more.
Her work has received awards and been published internationally. Besides, she has taught and lectured at various national and international institutions.
